Questions Tampa Bay homeowners actually ask

Plain answers about pricing, response times, financing, and how we work — grouped by what you're actually trying to figure out.

Pricing & fees

  • What's included in the flat diagnostic fee?

A certified technician inspects the system, finds the actual fault, and shows you the gauge reading — not just a verbal explanation. You get a clear, written quote before anything gets touched, and the fee is credited toward the repair if you approve it.

  • Do you charge more for nights and weekends?

Yes, but it's a flat, disclosed rate you see before booking — never a surprise overtime line item added to the invoice afterward.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

Cash, check, and all major cards. Financed jobs are billed through our financing partner directly — ask about it when you book.

  • Do you offer financing?

Yes — monthly payment plans through our financing partner, so a repair or new system doesn't have to be paid all at once. See how financing works or ask your technician for today's rates.

Scheduling & response

  • How fast can you get someone to my home?

Our average response is 94 minutes across Tampa, Clearwater, and St. Petersburg, with live technician tracking en route. No-heat or no-cool calls jump the queue under Emergency Dispatch.

  • Do I need to be home for the whole visit?

For most repairs and diagnostics, yes — a technician needs access to the system and may have questions about what you're noticing. For quick checks we'll tell you upfront if that's not the case.

Service area

  • Which areas do you serve?

Tampa, Clearwater, and St. Petersburg. Enter your ZIP code on the homepage to confirm you're in the service area before booking.

Repairs, install & warranty

  • How do you decide between repairing and replacing a system?

Age alone doesn't determine it. We look at the compressor, the refrigerant type, and what a repair actually buys you before we ever recommend replacement.

  • What if the repair doesn't fix the problem?

Repairs are covered by a 1-year workmanship warranty. We also verify every fix with a gauge reading before the technician leaves — proof it's actually resolved, not just a promise.

  • What brands of equipment do you install?

We install and service all major residential brands. If you already have a preferred manufacturer, tell us when you book and we'll quote accordingly.

  • How often should I schedule maintenance?

Once a year, ideally before the cooling season ramps up in spring. Florida humidity is harder on a system than a mild climate — skipping a year shows up in your bill and your filter faster than you'd expect.

Trust & safety

  • Are your technicians licensed and insured?

Every technician is EPA 608 certified, and Benchmark Air is licensed (HVAC-004471) and carries $2M in insurance.

  • What should I do if I smell gas?

Leave the house, don't flip any switches, and call 911 or your gas utility from outside — that's not something we, or any HVAC company, should be your first call for. Once it's safe, see our emergency dispatch page for what happens next.
